Description

Outstanding breakfasts. Light meals, lunch and dinner in the … la carte restaurant, open 7 days a week. Extensive choices and superb food. The welcoming, friendly bar is fully licensed.

The 14 individual rooms and suites are surrounded by 10 acres of extensive colourful gardens and offer comfortable, spacious and airy accommodation. All rooms have their own entrances and verandahs. Each has a private bathroom and the magnificent garden suites also offer minibars and outside showers. The rooms and the charming, thatched farmhouse are shaded by magnificent trees and have breathtaking views down the valley.

Rissington's congenial, easy-going hosts ensure cheerful, attentive hospitality allowing guests total freedom to unwind and enjoy the peace of the bush, lie by the sunny pool or walk down the valley with its spectacular birds and game sightings.

Rissington is the perfect balance of friendly, unobtrusive and personal service - everything you need and a little more than you expected.

One kilometre through indigenous bush on a gravel road off the R40, just South of Hazyview. 10 minutes from the Kruger National Park and close to all the attractions of the Great Escarpment and Panorama Route. Golf, riding and a host of activities nearby.

Accommodation

We pride ourselves on our outstanding hospitality. Sundowners in the bar, a delicious dinner in the restaurant, coffee and a nightcap, before retiring to your comfortable room with the night sounds of Africa to lull you into a peaceful sleep.

The rooms at Rissington Inn all have their own individual styles and have en suite bathrooms and a full range of facilities. Importantly, all have ceiling fans.

Combretum and Kapok – The Courtyard Rooms

Our smallest rooms each have a double bed and a small verandah. Bathrooms have Victorian baths. These rooms are ludicrously reasonably-priced!

Saligna, Euphorbia and Camelfoot – The Original Larger Rooms

Each of these rooms has its own individual style and all are situated in the shady, thatched former-tobacco barn, next to the main house.

They are cool in Summer and warm in Winter and are furnished throughout with antiques and interesting pictures from around the world. Each has its own small verandah.

Baobab, Mahogany and Kigelia – The Newer Larger Rooms

With long views and verandahs, these are recent additions. Furnished with a queen-size bed and a single bed, these rooms can accommodate three people in great comfort. The rooms are light and airy. The romantic Victorian bath is in the bedroom and the shower in the bathroom looks straight down the valley.

Sycamore and Ivory - The Original Garden Suites.

These rooms are very spacious, with large verandahs and long views. One has two double beds and the other a huge superking-sized bed and a single bed. Bathrooms have Victorian baths and walled-off outside showers.

Acacia, Coral, Ebony and Teak - The Thatched Garden Suites

Under thatch and surrounded by trees and shrubs, tucked away near the donga. Light and airy, these rooms have high roofs, Victorian baths, outside showers and plenty of space.

Acacia & Coral have a superking-sized bed and a single bed. Ebony and Teak have two queen sized beds. These rooms are suitable for 2, 3 or 4 people. Acacia is also suitable for wheelchair access

The Hillside Suites

Pumalanga and Shonalanga are the pride of Rissington Inn. Each suite has two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms (with our signature Victorian baths) and an outside shower. Both suites have a spacious sitting room, a large stoep, a sun terrace, minibars, tea and coffee facilities and a television with full DStv.  The two suites share a private swimming pool and the best views on the property.

Pumalanga and Shonalanga are both ideal for families or for two couples travelling together and each suite is able to accommodate from two to five people.

Umkhaphi – The Guide’s Room

For the budget traveller, this small room has a double bed, shower and loo, but no bath and is tucked away at the end of the original building.
